Ripe apple and the fuller figured pear saunter into view with lovely spice and vanilla trailing behind. They chatter in gentle, sweet tones, occasionally cutting the sire with fresh, crisp laughter.

The grapes for the Leftfield Pinot gris come from a new vineyard planting in Central Hawke's Bay, unlocking one of New Zealand's newest viticulture sub-regions. Tucked up beneath the Ruahine mountain range, the vineyard ripens several weeks later than our other Hawke's Bay vineyards. Once harvested, the grapes are gently pressed and the clean juice is fermented at cool temperatures using select yeast strains to promote bright aromas and a crisp flavour to produce a wine that is refreshing and delicious.
