A bold, mouth-filling wine
Bob Campbell, MW
Description
Dry, Floral, Lemon
"Rich, weighty wine with strong autolysis character. Quite a bold, mouth-filling wine in a complex style with brioche, roasted nut and hazelnut character. Good use of aged material, although the wine still has freshness" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Nov 2017
"The brioche and cooked-apple and cream character really comes through here. Full-bodied and round with fine bubbles. Flavorful and intense. Vivid, bread-dough finish. This is four years on lees. 55% Chardonnay and the rest Pinot" James Suckling, Jul 2019
"A superb wine, outstanding for such a large maker and for the 'workhorse' wine of such a big house. Very creamy. Hints of peach and toast. A lovely soft, rich, full-flavoured but also refined wine" Huon Hooke, Real Review, Mar 2017
"Elegant, even, nutty, fruity and enticing autolysis bouquet; aromas and flavours of lemon, yellow apple, grapefruit and white peach; abundant autolysis flavours with a soft chalky texture accentuated by bright bold acidity; Firm mousse with a plush bubble carrying plenty of flavour and finish. The finish is dry and lengthy with citrus and tree fruits wrapped in a light brioche blanket are at the core of this wine. Drink anytime. Best from now and through 2027" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
A pale gold in colour. Fine bubbles feed a persistent mousse. A delicate nose with hints of fresh citrus and white flowers. The wine’s complexity is expressed in successive notes such as vine peach and white fruit notes. A perfect balance between freshness and delicacy with fruity flavours very present on the finish. Serve between 8°C and 10°C.
This wine comes from the purest grape juice and it alone allows Laurent-Perrier to craft “La Cuvée”, a champagne of great finesse and a beautiful freshness obtained after a long ageing process in our cellars. Laurent-Perrier’s style and personality are defined by its very high proportion of Chardonnay. Purity, freshness and elegance - essential characteristics, expressed in this champagne - are a good introduction to the spirit of the House. For blending, only the musts of the cuvée are used, so only 80 % of the grape juice extracted from pressing.
Food Pairing: This fresh and pure wine is perfect for an apéritif. Its citrus and white fruit notes and its remarkable balance, supported by a subtle effervescence,
make it an ideal accompaniment to poultry and the finest fish.
