La Strada Marlborough Syrah 2014
Description
This elegant cool climate syrah opens with bright fruit aromatics of black cherry and eau de vie de prune (plum brandy) and lovely violet florals. The variety’s inherent spice characters then shimmy to the fore, revealing cracked black pepper, star anise and a subtle hint of cinnamon , all underpinned by a savoury element of dried herbs and forest floor. The palate is full and broad with good fruit density and ripeness, silky yet precise tannins and juicy acidity. Restrained power that does not preclude finesse.
Vibrant nose, violets florals, spice, dark red/blue fruit aromas, dense yet elegant , refined ripe tannins, long, complex finish.
