Description

Blueberry, Cherry, Herbal

"Attractively fruited and nicely lifted on the nose, showing dark berry, cured meat, fennel, and dried flower aromas. The palate offers ripe fruit flavours with savoury nuances, well supported by fine texture and grainy tannins, finishing lingering and classically dry. At its best: now to 2028" Sam Kim wine Orbit

“Someone was asking me the other day, “Why can’t you buy proper Chianti anymore, at an affordable price?” But this is about as classic, and as affordable, as it gets for entry point Chianti: cherry-berry, raspberry pastille fruit notes, tempered with dried herb, earthy, savoury undertones. Some meaty, gamey tannins, a moderate dose of acidity, this intense, complex wine just screams out for an accompanying bowl of pasta, or better yet, pizza straight out the oven. Classic” Paul Tudor, Master of Wine

Bright ruby red with aromas of sour cherry, red plum and wild herbs. A light-medium bodied, soft, juicy style red with cherry and blueberry fruit flavours, notes of fresh herbs and light, savoury tannins. Drink now through 2027. Serve 16–18 °C.

“A genuine find. So much affordable Chianti is hard, thin and disappointing, but not this. ‘La Piuma’ means ‘the feather’ - a great name for this light, fresh, glugable food-friendly introduction to Italy’s most well-known wine." Steve Bennett MW, Importer. Crafted by renowned vintners MGM Mondo del Vino (previously awarded “Best Italian Producer” at Mundus Vini and The Austrian Wine Challenge), the first European winery to adopt full EU green policy. Hand-harvested Sangiovese from clay-calcareous hills between Florence and Siena, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel to keep the wine bright and juicy. No oak – bottled young to capture the simple essence of Chianti

Food Pairing:  Perfect with pizza, pasta al pomodoro, grilled sausages, or Pecorino/Parmesan.
