Dry, Mineral, Oak
Made in a way that is atypical of Sauvignon Blanc from the region, the Kelly Washington Sauvignon Blanc subsequently has quite a unique expression. The hallmark of the wine is a savoury texture; thanks largely to aging on lees in French oak and a concrete egg, utilisation of wild yeast. The palate is vibrant and defined, yet complex and textured. Overall, a very grown up and delicious Sauvignon Blanc!
A stunning, classic vintage for Marlborough with dry, settled weather over vintage that enabled perfect ripening and picking of our Sauvignon Blanc. Cooler summer temperatures allowed the fruit more time to hang on the vine – in fact we harvested the fruit 8 days later than 2024, all in perfect balance and without any disease pressure.
Fermentation: A combination of a concrete egg and French oak barrels. The French oak Barrels were a mix of 2nd, 3rd , 4th fill and neutral.
