Aromas of nectarine and peach with fresh pineapple and dried apricot on the palate. This Chardonnay is lightly oaked and has both minerality and complexity to compliment an elegant and long finish.
100% Chardonnay variety, handmade in Gladstone, New Zealand. Chardonnay makes up 7% of the total production off this estate's 14 hectare vineyard.
2019 was the sort of vintage that wine producers dream about. A continental influence brought warm days, cool nights and a lovely, long ripening period. At Johner Estate, all grapes were hand-harvested and vinified to wine with minimal intervention. The 2019 wines demonstrate richness of flavour with integrated and complex savoury notes, finishing long on the palate.
Hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, followed with barrel fermentation and maturation in French oak. Fined with Bentonite followed by cold stabilisation. Bottled and packaged on-site in August 2020.
