Description

Cherry, Floral, Oak

A vibrant bouquet of red cherry, rose petal and subtle violet. Supported by fine, silky tannins, the palate opens up to reveal concentrated flavours of dark cherry and blueberry backed by elegant French oak nuances. Vibrant and pure in its youth, this wine promises to develop additional complexity and depth with age, making it an excellent choice for both immediate enjoyment and cellaring.

The Isabel Estate Single Vineyard range represents a distinctive expression of each season from our beloved Wairau Valley home in the Marlborough region. Sourced exclusively from our estate and with a commitment to sustainable viticulture, we craft wines of precision with unique character, complexity and elegance.

Marlborough's 2024 vintage is known for excellent quality with smaller yields. The dry, warm season contributed to superb fruit while cooler weather during flowering reduced the overall harvest. However, the dry conditions later in the season kept disease pressure low, allowing grapes to ripen fully and develop rich, concentrated flavors across all varieties.

Hand-picked and fermented separately in 4-tonne open-top stainless steel tanks, 80% of the fruit was destemmed, with 20% added as whole bunches. After a 3-day cold soak, natural fermentation began, peaking at 30°C over 10 days. Following 6 days on skins, the wine was pressed into a mix of 30% new French oak and seasoned barrels. It aged on fine lees for 11 months, undergoing natural malolactic fermentation, before being prepared for bottling in the spring and aged in our underground cellar.

Food Pairing: This wine pairs beautifully with herb-crusted lamb rack, where the savory herbs and tender meat complement the wine's red fruit and delicate herbal notes.
