Inspired by the viral jalapeño + Sauvignon Blanc trend that swept TikTok, Sarah Jessica Parker and New Zealand’s Invivo Winery introduce their Spicy Jalapeño Sauvignon Blanc – the wine style that sparked the phenomenon. This is wine, made fun and reimagined for the way people drink now.

Invivo’s winemaking team set out to bring together crisp New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with the fresh green character of jalapeño. Cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc, particularly from Marlborough, is naturally known for its tropical flavors and herbal, green capsicum notes. These aromas come from compounds called methoxypyrazines, which give Sauvignon Blanc its signature green bell pepper characters on the nose – though they aren’t spicy. The idea was to build on those familiar flavour cues and introduce a gentle, complementary heat on the palate. Jalapeño was a natural fit, thanks to its fresh green profile and how seamlessly it sits alongside Sauvignon Blanc’s inherent aromas. The Invivo winemakers worked with natural jalapeño essences and extracts, running multiple trials at different levels to land on the right balance. Through careful tastings, the blend was refined to create a controlled, buildable warmth that lifts the wine without overpowering its bright varietal character.
