Description
Dry, Peach, Vanilla
"Complex, toasty and fragrant with aromas of oaty bread and buttered brioche, red a pple, citrus and peach. Bold explosive mousse with a coarse silk texture, high acidity and flavours that mirror the nose. Fresh, crisp, dry and just a little bit elegant. A lovely expression and ready to enjoy from today and through 2025+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Nov 2020
"A blend of pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot meunier. Very champagne-like with an emphasis on yeast lees character rather than fruit. Appealing baguette crust and brioche characters take centre-stage with apple and citrus characters in the background" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Nov 2021
"Straw gold with delicate lemon hues and tiny bubbles levitating to the rim. The bouquet offers up a vanilla creaminess, a suggestion of creaming soda, a hint of toast – something delicate yet tantalising in there. Beautifully rounded and creamy in the mouth with the bubbles breaking softly into foam, a harmonious citrussy brightness all the way through and a hint of rosehip on the finish. This blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier isn't too bold or edgy, giving it all round appeal" Sue Courtenay, Wineoftheweekco.nz
"Miru Miru' means 'Bubbles'. This wine is disgorged earlier than its Reserve stablemate, has a lower Pinot Noir content and a crisper finish. A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, it is typically fresh and aromatic, with an attractive lightness and vivacity. It has crisp, citrusy, appley, yeasty flavours, showing good tightness, delicacy and complexity" Michael Cooper's NZ Wine Buyers Guide, 2017
"Thank God for wineries that aren't content for a good thing to remain a good thing, but do everything they can for it to become a better thing.
The latest release Hunters Mirumiru NV, which I've tasted on a couple occasions recently, is the best iteration yet of this consistently fine Marlborough methode traditionelle sparkling wine" John Saker, Stuff.co.nz, 16 Sept 2017
"Good sparkling is a very useful thing to have on hand in a cellar and Miru Miru (Maori for "bubbles") is a very useful sparkling: vibrantly fresh but with a satisfying richness" Emma Jenkins Master of Wine, The Australian Women’s Weekly (NZ Edition), Jun 2017
"A blend of the three Champagne varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot meunier. The wine shows a delightful freshness with an ethereal texture and flavours suggesting citrus/grapefruit, brioche and hazelnut" Taste Magazine, March 2015
The nose exhibits light yeasty characters with peach and citrus aromas. An elegant palate showing a blend of peach/citrus chardonnay components followed by the light berry fruits of the pinot noir. The mouth filling mousse completes the palate that is full and persistent.
