Supple & elegantly flavoursome
Wine Orbit
Description
- Oaked
- Dark berry
- Subtle spice
- Long, smooth finish
"Sweetly ripe and delightfully fragrant with dark plum, floral, thyme and hazelnut aromas, it's supple and elegantly flavoursome in the mouth delivering smooth texture and silky tannins. Beautifully rounded and immediately appealing. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2022
Deep velvety red colour in the glass. A big, aromatic Pinot Noir with dark berry, black cherry and underlying savoury characters. The palate is juicy and full-bodied, delivering succulent fruit flavours together with a subtle spicy complexity, finishing long and smooth.
Vintage 2021 has been of exceptional quality and the resulting wines will be celebrated and reflected on for many years to come. With a lower yield due to a combination of frosts and cooler weather during flowering, the grapes ripened quickly resulting in a compact and quick harvest. Grapes were harvested from vineyards in the Wairau Valley and Awatere Valley in Marlborough, New Zealand.
The juice was cold soaked prior to temperature controlled fermentation, in a mixture of stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. With minimal intervention and fining, this wine was matured on oak for 8 months prior to filtering and bottling.
