A light golden yellow with bright green hues in the glass, this Pinot Gris shows lifted floral aromas with juicy apple, nectarine and pear notes and a hint of creaminess on the nose. It is very appealing on the palate with vibrant fruit flavours and a silky, rounded mouthfeel.

The grapes for this wine are grown in carefully selected vineyards in Hawke’s Bay. A slow, temperature controlled fermentation of small parcels is undertaken, followed by a period of contact with the lees to add complexity to the wine. These parcels are then blended and the wine is bottled young to capture the aromatic characters and freshness.

The 2020 vintage has been an excellent vintage in New Zealand and will definitely be one to remember with the country being locked down right in the middle of harvest due to Covid-19. A warmer and drier season than normal, with very settled weather over lock down resulted in a classic ’Indian summer’ which seemed to keep on giving.

Food Pairing: This wine is delicious on its own or enjoy slightly chilled with a chicken Caesar salad.
