Description
Apricot, Oak, Pastry
"Delightfully styled and expressive, with aromas of apricot, rockmelon, vanilla, almond meal, and hazelnut on the nose. The palate is equally appealing, with a creamy texture backed by beautifully balanced acidity, making it flavoursome and persistent. At its best: now to 2028" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2025
"Aromas and flavours of peaches and cream, apple and grapefruit, vanilla and banana. The creamy texture across the palate is contrasted by the acidity and citrus flavours. As the wine warms on the palate flavours of baked apple and peach emerge. Nice weight, balanced and well made with best drinking from late 2025 through 2028" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jul 2025
"Bright, even, medium yellow gold. The nose is full, with aromas of golden apple, citrus, stonefruit, roasted cashew and shortbread. Medium-full bodied, aromas of grapefruit, golden apple entwined with apricot, roasted cashew and grapefruit peels. The fruit is generous, supported by alcohol power and a tangy acid line. Toasty, roasted nuts add complexity" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jul 2025
Intensely savory with fine French oak seamlessly integrated into layers of citrus and white stone fruits. A moorish acidity balances the richly textured palate, driving the wine through a long, elegant finish
The fruit for our Chardonnay was primarily harvested from our lower Wairau vineyards giving us a variety of character. Good soil and canopy management, cold nights during ripening, and a warm and dry summer maintain concentrated flavours in the grapes.
The grapes were selectively harvested and brought straight into the winery, where they were gently pressed before being settled into tank. Following a short settling time, the juice was barreled down to French oak for fermentation. 30% of the barrels went through wild fermentation. Post ferment, the barrels were stirred regularly to help malolactic conversion and promote structure. The wine was then matured in barrels for 11 months before being blended and prepared for bottling.
Food Pairing: Pair with pasta al limone, roast chicken or fresh bread and a cheese platter.
