“This mellow, savoury, super-soft, affordable red encapsulates what Spain does so well” Steve Bennett, Master of Wine, Importer
"Complex and engaging, the wine shows dark berry, cured meat, dried herb and toasted spice aromas on the nose, followed by a flavoursome palate offering good weight and fine texture. Wonderfully framed by fine, grainy tannins, making it sturdy and robust with an attractively dry finish” Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
“There’s something familiar and comforting about a wine like this, aromas and flavours of ripe red berries and dried fruits, prune and vanilla, plum compote and leather, Winter and a wine to go with comfort food. Delicious on the palate with textures from tannins and easy acid line, baking spices and nut, plums and prunes, Winter cherry compote and cinnamon sticks. Balanced, well-made and ready to drink from day of purchase through 2028” Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
Deep garnet. Complex and savoury on the nose with dark forest fruit, wild herbs and hints of dark chocolate. Medium-full-bodied, smooth, soft, textural wine with seamless tannins. Drink now through 2028. Serve 16–18 °C.
Crafted by renowned Rioja winemakers Javier Murúa and Sara Ugarte from low-yielding, old bush vines across central Spain’s high plateau. Extreme continental climate (scorching summers, freezing winters) delivers concentrated fruit and ripe tannins. After cool fermentation in stainless steel, the wine spends a minimum of four full years in bottle before release, to develop character, integration and softness of texture. The result is savoury, chocolate and leather complexity while keeping vibrant fruit. No hurry – it arrives drinking perfectly.
Food Pairing: Ideal with charcuterie boards, BBQ, roast lamb, grilled mushrooms, hard cheeses or slow-cooked casseroles.
