Pisa’s fragrant beauty is delightfully expressed. High toned red aromatics meld with attractive florals. Whilst creamy, a clean, bright minerality threads the palate through to a savoury finish.

Drawing from Gibbston Valley’s™ most intriguing vineyards, the Single Vineyard range gives full voice to site. The Diamond block is part of the Torr vineyard, located in Pisa, Central Otago. Wines from the western side of Lake Dunstan have a ref ined beauty. Located on the lower terrace above the Cromwell basin floor (230m), it has 2 clones of Pinot Noir planted over 3 hectares.

2020 was a cool Central Otago growing season marked by low crop levels, and pure fruit. Budburst and flowering were later than average in Pisa, but set was even, with small bunches. Fruit was harvested in early April, with typically vibrant flavours.

Very simple natural fermentations in 5 tonne open top fermenters; 30 days total before pressing. Aged in barrel for MLF, with 10 months in French oak. After indigenous fermentation, the wine was pressed to barrel for 10 months, with 20% new oak.
