Precision & complexity; outstanding rendition
Wine Orbit
Description
"Exhibiting precision as well as complexity, this outstanding rendition shows perfumed aromas of Black Doris plum, raspberry, thyme, tar and toasted almond characters. The palate is equally stunning with exceptional fruit purity and flowing mouthfeel, brilliantly framed by seamlessly integrated chalky tannins. At its best: 2020 to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2019
"Elegant and moderately dense syrah with a strong herbal, floral influence waving the cool-climate flag, plus red berry, pepper and spice flavours. A bright, high energy wine with its own distinctive character" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Apr 2019
"Certified organic, the 2017 vintage (4*) was hand-harvested, blended with a splash of Viognier (2 per cent), fermented with indigenous yeasts, and matured for 19 months in French oak barrels (less than 10 per cent new). Fullish in colour, it is a fresh, medium-bodied wine, vividly varietal, with strong, plummy, peppery flavours, gentle acidity and supple tannins. Already enjoyable, it should be at its best 2021" Michael Cooper
A cool climate Syrah that shows both power and finesse. Opening with bright blue florals and red/blue berries, the aromas then unravel to reveal undertones of graphite minerals and cracked black pepper spice. The palate is effortless with a vibrant richness and a crunchy freshness. The balanced acidity accentuates the wine’s flavour and layered tannins add to the complexity. There’s a restrained power to proceedings here.
Staying true to the roots of Fromm's European founder Georg Fromm, they strive to make wines that reflect the vineyards in which the vines are grown. Since 1992 the team have quietly developed a reputation for crafting distinctive single vineyard wines that genuinely illustrate the terroir.
