Description
- Vanillin oak
- Ripe fruit
- Fine & textural
- Soft mouthfeel
"Charming and delightfully composed, the bouquet shows white flesh nectarine, nougat and hazelnut characters with a hint of oatmeal complexity. The palate delivers lovely weight and roundness together with creamy mouthfeel and refreshing acidity, offering lovely drinking" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2020
Chardonnay was the first wine ever made at Foxes Island in 1992, thus it’s a pleasure to introduce their ‘little one’; le petit. Employing sensitive farming and winemaking practices whilst, drawing on his French training, John Belsham has crafted a chardonnay in a youthful expression that is fine and textural with lovely harmony and tension between ripe fruit, soft, vanillin oak and chalk.
The FOX by John Belsham wines are a collection of vegan, sustainably produced wines with one tree planted for every case sold.
Fox is named after the explorer William Fox who named a tributary island in Marlborough, Foxes Island and in the Southern Alps, a glacier, called Fox Glacier. Sarah Featon painted the botanicals that grace the label in the late 19th century; compiling the most extensive documentation of native NZ flora.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with vegetarian, mushroom, fish and white meat dishes or as an aperitif with a cheese platter. I deal serving temper ature 14℃.
