"Delightfully fruited and inviting on the nose showing apricot, rockmelon, nougat and oatmeal characters. The palate delivers succulent fruit intensity and supple mouthfeel, well supported by refreshing acidity, making it fabulously drinkable" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2021
Sensitive farming and gentle handling of the grapes have created a vibrant, dry style with flavours of summer citrus, wild thyme and crunchy river stones all beautifully balanced and delicious.
Le cadet is an endearing French nickname given to a young apprentice learning his craft. John Belsham was once a cadet in Bordeaux where he learnt to make wine. The wine salutes all great mentors whilst the apprentice embraces the responsibility to one day pass the knowledge gained on to another cadet.
Fox is named after the explorer William Fox who named a tributary island in Marlborough, Foxes Island and in the Southern Alps, a glacier, called Fox Glacier. Sarah Featon painted the botanicals that grace the label in the late 19th century; compiling the most extensive documentation of native NZ flora. – Sir Grey Special Collections, Auckland Librar ies
Food Pairing: Enjoy with frittatas, salads, pasta and seafood.
