A beautiful dark crimson red, attractively fruited and fragrant on the nose, showing dark plum, sweet cherry, dried herb, game, and nutmeg aromas. The palate delivers succulent fruit flavours with supple texture and fine-grained tannins, finishing lingering and pleasingly dry.
The grapes for this wine were from the home vineyard here in Kumeu. 75% Malbec and 25% Merlot, hand-picked over 2 consecutive days, the varieties were fermented separately before being blended prior to 6 months barrel aging in seasoned oak barriques.
