Elegant & charming; delightfully drinkable
Wine Orbit
Description
- Off-dry style
- Nashi pear
- Ripe stonefruit
- Juicy & mouth-filling
"Elegant and charming with apricot, green pear and lemon peel aromas, it's beautifully rounded and smooth in the mouth offering bright fruit flavours backed by supple texture and crisp acidity, making it delightfully drinkable" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2022
The aroma displays lifted notes of fresh nashi pear and delicate florals. The palate is juicy and mouth filling with ripe stonefruit and a refreshing hint of citrus on the finish.
The grapes for this wine were harvested at optimum flavour ripeness but before the sugar level was too high. Fermented in stainless steel, the fermentation was stopped with a little residual sugar remaining to balance the nature acidity and add richness.
Marlborough’s worst ever fire, Boxing Day 2000, burnt 6,000 ha, for over three days, killed thousands of stock and threatened the wine town of Blenheim, as well as a number of vineyards and wineries. Disaster was avoided by the brave residents, of what is now known as Fire Road, who battled the blaze, by using buckets and hand held hoses and were eventually assisted by a fortunate wind shift.
Food Pairing: Delicious as an aperitif and compliments a wide variety of cheeses.
