Description

Blackcurrant, Floral, Oak

"Brightly fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows dark plum, blueberry, floral, thyme and toasted nut aromas, leading to a succulent palate that's beautifully rounded and smooth. Medium-full and flavoursome with a lengthy juicy finish. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2022

"Deep ruby-black, even colour throughout. The nose is rich, with aromas of plum, blackberry, clove, cinnamon and rich herbs. Full-bodied, aromas of plum and blackberry melded with red berry, clove, cinnamon and a touch of herbaceous details. The mouthfeel is smooth, with a dense, firm-grained tannin structure, and juicy acidity carries a moderately long, red-fruited finish" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, May 2025

Elegant aromas of dark berry fruits and underlying subtle oak. The palate is dark and brooding with characters of of ripe black plums and blackcurrants with a toasty oak note lingering on the finish.

The free draining gravel type soil in the Hawke’s Bay, combined with the climate are the perfect mix for the growth of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The fruit was carefully monitored during ripening and harvested in the cool evening at maximum flavour maturing and physiological ripeness.

Food Pairing: Matched perfectly with Spicy lamb stew and crispy potatoes.
