Youthfully charming & elegantly lifted
Wine Orbit
Description
- Spicy oak
- Black Doris plum
- Roasted nut
- Balanced acidity
"Youthfully charming and elegantly lifted, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, thyme, olive and roasted nut characters, followed by a supple palate displaying sweet berry flavours combined with spicy nuances, finishing long and succulent. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2021
A concentrated wine from Marlborough which is deep ruby red in colour with purple highlights. Floral and ripe red plum aromas with a hint of spice fill the glass. The palate displays flavours of juicy plum and boysenberry and a long toasty finish. An elegant medium bodied palate structure is supported with silky tannins and well balanced acidity, interlaced with spicy oak and coffee. Although this wine will cellar for at least five years from vintage date, it can also be enjoyed now while young.
Fruit for this wine was held cold for five days prior to ferment to help extract maximum flavour. It was aged in oak until the right balance was achieved and then gently extracted and prepared to bottle.
Food Pairing: A great food match with beef bourguignon and crusty bread.
