The wine is perfumed with exotic aromas of violets, wild blackberry and toasty oak. The palate is elegant and luscious displaying full flavours of mixed summer berries with a hint of spice leading to a long toasty finish. Perfect for drinking immediately this wine will continue to develop and delight for at least 5 years.
The fruit for this Syrah was carefully selected from the winegrowing district of Hawke's Bay. The vineyard site has ideal ripening conditions for achieving the intense aromatics and delicate structure that Syrah can give.
Fruit for this wine was held cold for four days before fermentation to help extract maximum flavour and colour. The wine was aged in a mixture of new and aged French oak and underwent malolactic fermentation before being prepared for bottling.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with herb crusted lamb rack with chunky salted roast potatoes.
