"Lifted, fresh, vibrant, herbaceous and fruity with a core of varietal aromas - fresh grapefruit and mango, apple and passion fruit, fresh basil, sage and wet stone mineral scents. Tense, youthful, fresh, crisp, salivating, fruity and just dry. Flavours mirror the nose with drive and conviction. Youthful, yet drinkable upon purchase and through 2023" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jun 2021
Ripe scented tropical fruit and herbal aromatics lead into a salivating saline palate, with lively acid surrounding a core of fresh citrus fruit flavours. This wine is drinking well now but can be cellared for up to 3 years.
This wine is from Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in the Kuranui vineyard in the Awatere Valley sub-region of Marlborough.
The grapes for this wine were harvested in the Marlborough vineyard and transported to a contract facility for dejuicing and settling. The clear juice was transported by road tanker to the Katikati winery where it was fermented in stainless steel tanks at around 14°C using Zymaflore X5 and Delta yeast strains. Following fermentation the wine was blended, protein stabilised, cold stabilised and fined.
Food Pairing: Shellfish and fish or summer salads, or drink with roast pork and apple sauce.
