Description
Cherry, Oak, Spice
A flavoursome and fruit-driven wine, thanks to the organic fruit that is bursting with ripe berry aromas, darker savoury notes and hints of spice. The palate is bright, distinct flavours hints of cherry cola, fine tannins and classy oak leading to a long finish.
The vast, high and dry plains of Spain’s vineyards. The ancient soils and high altitiude ensures the richly flavoured fruit maintains structure and tannin. Vineyards planted on the slopes of mountain ranges in the north and north east add a degree of elegance to the wines.
This years vintage was an irregular though, positive year where long season grape varieties fared best as the weather delivered a range of environments. The cool nights in the last stages of ripening were favourable and produced high quality, fruitful expressions of the region.
Totally de-stemmed with a short cold soak before a long, cool fermentation with daily pump - overs to achieve optimum fruit and colour. The core of the blend was aged in stainless steel before three months maturation in seasoned French and American oak. A component of up to ten percent of declassified Rioja (due to volume constrainer’s not quality) is added to the blend three months before bottling.
Food Pairing: A meaty paella or chorizo dish is this wines pairing match.
