Description

Floral, Oak, Raspberry

"It's fruit forward and nicely lifted on the nose with sweet plum, raspberry, game and floral aromas, followed by a juicy palate that's silky and rounded. Brightly expressed with soothing mouthfeel, finishing long and comforting" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2024

"Deep ruby colour. Mulberry, wood oil and clove spices on the nose. Dense and full dark fruits on entry, tannins have a firm hand in the drive, lifting dark spices and vanilla notes out from the plush fruit. Good length and drying into the finish" Stuart Knox, The Real Review, Jul 2024

Vibrant dark cherries, chocolate, black pepper and tomato leaf. Delightfully juicy with layers of boysenberry, cherry and chocolate leading to delicious Tempranillo tannins reminiscent of ironstone.

After generations spent working the same soils, our growers have learned exactly when to step back and let nature take over. That way, the grapes absorb the natural characters of the earth. You see, our growers have been perfecting this way of doing things, year in year out, on the same lands and with the same sense of patience and dedication. And they’ll continue to pass the knowledge along. So, the earthworks story will be a long one, tied to tradition and driven by sustainability. Now, time to crack the lid, lean back and taste the fruits of their perseverance.

Good winter rains replenished groundwater and enabled the vines to happily start growing. Spring was warm to mild with rain events through spring to keep moisture levels up to the growing vines. Summer and autumn were both cool to mild and relatively dry with an occasional shower. This was ideal for slow ripening and achieving the perfect balance of flavour ripeness and natural acidity.

Bunches are carefully destemmed and placed into fermenters. The grapes are gently macerated and fermented with yeast native to the vineyard. Cool fermentation temperatures enhance the rich and generous fruit flavours and soft tannins enjoyed in this wine.

Food Pairing: Steak sandwich with bacon, cheese, caramelised onion and beetroot relish or smoky barbeque sweet potato and chickpea burgers.
