Description
- Black Doris plum
- Dark cherry

"Youthfully charming and beautifully perfumed, the wine shows dark cherry, raspberry, fragrant spice, almond and subtle mushroom notes on the nose, followed by a vibrant palate that's juicy and elegant. It's bright and pristine with a lovely flow, finishing persistent and silky. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2020
Devil's Staircase Central Otago Pinot Noir is deliciously fruity, rich and supple, with a long smooth finish and soft tannins. The flavours for this wine are tantalisingly full of Black Doris plums, blueberries and dark cherries, and will leave you with an insatiable desire for more. Drinking perfectly now and will cellar well for 1-4 years.
The Devil’s Staircase wines are inspired by the winding road leading from Queenstown to Kingston along the shores of Lake Wakatipu. Sourced from several Central Otago vineyards, the Devil’s Staircase Pinot Noir takes the willing down into the realm of decadence and Bacchanalian delights. The unrelenting Central Otago environment tortures the vines whose twisted limbs produce a wine worthy of absolution; strong and sensual with lashings of dark fruit, sinfully succulent and devilishly good.
18-25 days on skins. Rapid warm ferments, matured in tank to retain bright fruit. No oak influence.
Food Pairing: Perfect with barbequed meat.
