Description
Dry, Melon, Passionfruit
"Upfront and instantly appealing, the wine shows passionfruit, feijoa, lime zest, and crunchy apple characters on the nose. The palate displays bright fruit intensity with fine texture and lively acidity, making it refreshing and highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2025
"Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is voluminous, with aromas of gooseberry, citrus, nettle and jalapeno. Medium-light bodied, aromas of lime, grapefruit and gooseberry melded with nettle, subtle jalapeno spice and minerals. The wine is crisp, vibrant and fine-textured. Invigorating acidity flushes through the palate and lends a taut, appetizing finish" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Mar 2025
"Tasting note from the judging: Fruit salad of papaya, mangoes and passionfruit combine with fresh rhubarb for interesting glassful. Hint of lemon on zesty conclusion" International Wine Challenge 2025
Pale green. Elegant aromas of blackcurrant, tropical fruits and mineral oyster shell. A rich and intense palate showing textural layers of ripe passionfruit, cantaloupe and tomato leaf, the minerality gives a crisp and lasting finish.
Selected from two sites within Marlborough's Wairau Valley. Close to the ocean, this sub-region experiences long hot days balanced by the effect of cooling sea breezes at night. The 2024 vintage was truly exceptional. Elevated temperatures led to more concentrated fruit flavors and smaller batches, resulting in a wine that Heather and the team are incredibly proud of. Ripening steadily throughout the growing period, the fruit was continually monitored until a balance of flavour, acidity and physiological ripeness was reached.
During a cool evening, the vineyard was machine harvested and the grapes quickly transported to the winery where they were destemmed and pressed. After settling, the juice was fermented at cool temperatures and racked off lees quickly to retain the vibrant fruit flavours and freshness of this Sauvignon Blanc.
Food Pairing: An ideal match with pan-fried scallops, soft Goat’s cheese or Marlborough mussels.
