Description

Oak, Spice, Strawberry

"Sweetly fruited and inviting, the wine shows ripe cherry, wild strawberry, clove, and floral aromas on the nose. The palate displays succulent fruit flavours with a beautifully rounded mouthfeel, combined with fine texture and elegant tannins, finishing lingering and tasty. At its best: now to 2028" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2025

Inviting bright aromas of dark cherry, wild strawberry and plums with supporting spice and savoury notes. Red fruits carry to the palate which is juicy and generous with hints of spice and smooth elegant tannins giving the wine length and poise.

Dashwood embraces the natural beauty of the coastlines and unique flora and fauna that are synonymous with New Zealand. Taking inspiration from the native Pohutukawa that flowers in summertime along New Zealand’s coastlines, our wines embody the care and respect we have for our precious environment.

Fruit was selectively harvested at full ripeness and received immediately at the winery where the fruit was gently de-stemmed to stainless steel tanks. With select vineyard parcels a portion of the grapes was left as full clusters and put directly to tank where the fruit was cooled for a cold soaking period to allow gentle extraction. Inoculated with select yeast to enhance natural vineyard characteristics with some tanks left to start spontaneously. Following fermentation the wines were gently pressed off skins and put into French barrels and larger format Oak Vats for maturation and spring malo.

Food Pairing: A fun wine to pair with your favourite pizza, pasta or BBQ dishes.
