A bold yet balanced wine with depth, structure & a long, opulent finish

Description

Blackberry, Oak, Spice

A rich, full-bodied expression of the region, offering intense aromas of blackberry, black plum and dark chocolate, with hints of liquorice and spice. The palate is dense and powerful, delivering layers of ripe dark fruit, mocha and subtle oak, supported by velvety tannins and generous weight. A bold yet balanced wine with depth, structure and a long, opulent finish.

Crimson Monster creates monstrously rich and full bodied wines sourced from lowyielding, established vineyards located in some of South Australia’s finest regions such as McLaren Vale and Coonawarra.

Thick gnarled old vines produce tiny berries of incredible intensity that is harnessed by careful winemaking and partial maturation in large seasoned oak barrels to deliver wonderfully approachable, opulent and mouth-coating flavours.

The 2024 McLaren Vale vintage was marked by a challenging season, with a mild start followed by heavy summer rain and then an extended dry, warm period. These conditions compressed ripening and created a very tight harvest window, putting pressure on growers and wineries. Despite these challenges, the yield produced consisted of quality fruit and produced some high quality wines.

Sourced from a highly valued vineyard on the Willunga foothills of McLaren Vale, facing north westerly. The vineyard grows tiny, intense and high quality berries that delivered the richer flavours expected for a Crimson Monster Shiraz. Matured in a combination of stainless steel and large French oak 500 litre barrels. The wine was then blended and bottled.
