Craggy Range Te Muna Single Vineyard Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025
A Sophisticated & moreish wine
A Sophisticated & moreish wine
Description
Dry, Passionfruit, Peach
Aromas of white flowers and blossom enfold freshly cut peaches and passionfruit. On the palate, the fruit and floral notes are bright and expressive, intertwined with hints of preserved lemon and key lime. The wine is fresh, elegant, and textural, with a saline minerality imparted by the river stones that it was grown on.
Refined and complex, transcending the vibrant style New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is known for. A long ripening season delivers intense citrus and tropical fruit lifted by herbal notes and bright acidity that lead into a mineral driven, elegant palate. Low yields, partial handpicking and varied fermentation vessels—including stainless steel, French oak, and amphora—bring layered complexity. Over 50 parcels blend to create a wine of remarkable depth—purely reflective of Te Muna’s distinctive terroir.
The 2025 vintage began with a warm, dry spring encouraging early vine development and higher yields. A cooler, more overcast summer slowed ripening, preserving delicate aromatics. The wine was predominantly fermented in stainless steel to ensure the floral and stonefruit characters remain expressive, while a portion is fermented and aged in oak to add complexity. 13% of the fruit was hand harvested, with individual parcels fermented separately in a combination of stainless steel tanks, French and Austrian oak. After 3 months on lees, it was fined and filterd before bottling.
Food Pairing: Fresh oysters, shellfish, goat cheese, grilled white fish and Asian cuisine.
