Fruity as a Sauvignon
Peter Saunders
Description
Dry, Gooseberry, Passionfruit
"Fruity as a Sauvignon, the hints of gooseberry and pineapple quite noticable within the Sauvignon framework. This adds to a wide-appeal style, suited easily to finger food platters as well as oysters, mussles and crayfish appetisers. A wine drinking well now and with wide wine-drinker appeal" Peter Saunders, Nov 2023
"It's nicely lifted on the nose, showing Gala apple, apricot, capsicum, and lemon peel aromas, followed by a fruity palate that's juicy and crisp. Well structured by bright acidity, finishing mouth-watering and lingering" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2025
This estate bottled wine is well balanced and full, with a long crisp finish. It has vibrant fruity flavours throughout. The magnificent bouquet combines intense aromas of gooseberry and citrus. An excellent example of the vintage.
Grapes for this wine were grown in vineyards situated in the heart of Marlborough’s Central Valley. An export certified spray programme was adhered to. Irrigation, if required, was by trickle system. We operate under the Sustainable Winegrowing accreditation (SWNZ). Harvest: Machine harvested in March. The grapes were harvested in batches determined by maturity of flavors.
Fermentation was temperature controlled in stainless steel tanks. The controlled fermentation is used to maximize primary fruit aroma and flavor. After completion of fermentation, we selected various parcels to make the final blend.
Food Pairing: Served chilled, this wine is an ideal accompaniment with sea bass, tuna and snapper.
