The nose shows a delicate blend of blackberry, violet, black tea, and bergamot matched with a ferrous earthy richness that evokes the estate’s clay and limestone soils. Notes of pepper, black olive and blueberry compliment concentrated dark fruit, plum and cacao. Full bodied, rich, and graceful with lush tannins and impeccable balance, this is a great example of the depth and elegance that a cooler growing season can bring to wines from McLaren Vale.
Shiraz has been Coriole’s principle variety and flagship wine since the first bottling in 1970. Coriole Shiraz is 100%Estate grown and the average vine age is 50 years old.
Food Pairing: A classic dish for a classic wine - try with a scotch fillet steak served laden with pepper sauce and all the usual trimmings.
