Description
Cherry, Oak, Plum
Perfumed and expressive with dark cherry, wild raspberry, and violet aromas layered with subtle spice and earthy undertones. A finely structured Central Otago Pinot Noir showing dark cherry and wild raspberry fruit with floral violet lift. The palate is silky and elegant, with fine tannins, bright acidity, subtle spice, and a long, refined finish.
Steeped in history, Coopers Creek have been crafted from New Zealand’s best grape growing regions for over 40 years. With a legacy of making great wines we are proudly family owned and sustainably produced – protecting our lands for future generations.
The Razorback Pinot Noir 2024 is sourced from the Clutha vineyard in Central Otago’s Clutha subregion, where a cool, extended growing season supports slow ripening, aromatic intensity, and retention of natural acidity and structure. Fruit is harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified in small batches with a focus on precision and site expression. Fermentation is carried out in small vessels with gentle extraction techniques to preserve purity, finesse, and fine tannin structure. The wine is then matured in 228L French oak barriques for approximately 10 months, building structure, complexity, and subtle spice while retaining fruit clarity. The approach is focused on careful parcel selection and gentle winemaking, with no whole bunch fermentation indicated. The result is a Pinot Noir defined by aromatic purity, fine structure, and an elegant, balanced finish.
