This 2025 Chardonnay shows a pale, bright appearance with evolving depth in bottle. The bouquet is complex and expressive, with vanilla, citrus of lemon and grapefruit, hazelnut, and subtle spice. The palate is balanced, with fresh acidity, weighted fruit, silky texture, and a long finish. A finely crafted Chardonnay showing bright citrus and stone fruit characters with well-integrated oak influence. The palate is balanced and textural, with layered fruit expression, subtle spice, and creamy complexity, finishing long, fresh, and harmoniously structured.

The 2025 Limeworks Chardonnay is a finely crafted wine from Limeworks Vineyard on Middle Road in Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay. The site features loess over limestone soils and established vines producing expressive fruit. The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness, capturing balance and natural acidity. This barrel-fermented Chardonnay was matured in a carefully selected mix of American and European oak barrels, approximately 20% new, building complexity, texture, and subtle spice. The wine spent around 10 months in barrel, enhancing integration and depth. Fermentation and maturation in oak were used to build structure while preserving fruit purity. The vineyard’s soils and thoughtful winemaking give this Chardonnay its distinctive character.

Food Pairing: The wine is approachable now and pairs beautifully with poultry, pork, salmon, and crayfish.
