Wine Orbit
Description
Cream, Oak, Vanilla
"Gorgeously fruited with seductive complexity, showing golden peach, mango, vanillin oak, and brioche characters on the nose. The palate is equally satisfying with excellent weight and creamy texture, wonderfully supported by bright acidity, making it delicious and lingering. At its best: now to 2029" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2025
"An excellent bouquet filled with classic and familiar scents of creamy cashew and peach, vanilla and a lactic almost cheesy quality. Nectarine, ripe apple and apricot. A fuller-bodied expression with a creamy texture, some leesy fine tannin suggestions and flavours that mirror the bouquet. Delicious and ready with best drinking from day of purchase through 2028" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Aug 2025
Pale and bright in appearance, this 2024 Chardonnay shows evolving depth in bottle. The bouquet is expressive and layered, with vanilla, lemon and grapefruit, hazelnut, and subtle spice. The palate is balanced, with fresh acidity, generous fruit weight, a silky texture, and a long finish.
Steeped in history, Coopers Creek have been crafted from New Zealand’s best grape growing regions for over 40 years. With a legacy of making great wines we are proudly family owned and sustainably produced – protecting our lands for future generations.
The 2024 Limeworks Chardonnay is a carefully crafted wine from Limeworks Vineyard on Middle Road in Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay. The site is defined by loess over limestone soils, with mature vines yielding expressive fruit. The 2024 season provided consistent conditions, allowing slow, even ripening and the preservation of natural acidity. This barrelfermented Chardonnay was matured in American oak, with around 20% new, contributing subtle spice, exture, and complexity. The wine matured for roughly 10 months in barrel, supporting harmony and depth. Oak fermentation and maturation were used to shape structure while maintaining fruit purity. The vineyard’s soils and considered winemaking define its character.
Food Pairing: The wine pairs beautifully with roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes, grilled seafood, and soft cheeses.
