Description
- French oak
- Grapefruit & nectarine
- Baguette crust
- Fresh acidity
"Bright, poised Chardonnay with citrus, grapefruit, struck-flint, nectarine, baguette crust, and cashew nut flavours. A stylish wine with impressive purity and energy. Subtle power and an ethereal texture. Very good value at this price" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Mar 2021
This wine delivers aromas of roasted nuts, subtle creaminess and a hint of smoky struck flint. The palate is powerful yet fresh and restrained with fine texture, great length and balanced fresh acidity.
Hand-harvested to ensure only the best fruit selection, this Chardonnay was gentle whole-bunched pressed and wild fermented in French oak.
Church Road’s label celebrating the life of wine legend Tom McDonald – in some circles nicknamed the “Father of red wine in New Zealand”.
Food Pairing: Seafood, poultry and light game match particularly well when there is an element of creaminess in the dish.
