Description
Apple, Dry, Pastry
“A stunning expression, the immensely complex bouquet shows baked apple, almond meal, lemon peel and strong yeasty aromas. It's impressively concentrated on the palate, exhibiting outstanding depth and expansive mouthfeel. It's opulent and powerful, while remaining harmonious and balanced with a sustained, seamless finish” Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
“Mid-lemon. A richly developed, dense and compact nose of pastry, chestnut and spice from extended autolysis. The palate is broad and off-dry with earthy, mushroom flavours over a salty, lemony core which is now beginning to disperse. A mature, gourmand wine.” Stephen Wong Master of Wine
Founded in Reims 1811, Champagne Charles de Cazanove is one of the oldest in the region with a glorious brand history. 100% family owned by 4th generation winemakers, the Rapenau family who are a former Sparkling Winemaker of the Year winner at the International Wine Challenge in London! Sourced only from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. 56% Chardonnay from Côte des Blancs 44% Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims. Aged 7 years on yeast lees for extra complexity and richness. A rich, dry, complex, vintage Champagne that represents outstanding value for money.
Boasting a complex nose with refined citrus fruit from the Chardonnay and savoury brioche notes and great autolytic complexity from extended time sur lie. A generous, well-structured palate, with plush fruit notes and rich texture Low vineyard yields and respectful winemaking ensures a long, fine finish.
Food Pairing: Perfect with canapes, smoked salmon, rich seafood, mushroom risotto or soft rind cheese.
