Intoxicating your soul with the promise of depth & mysterious sublimity
Intoxicating your soul with the promise of depth & mysterious sublimity
Description
Deep, dark purple with violet highlights in the glass, whilst the nose offers bright black berry aromas with a touch of light floral and toast notes. The mouth-feel is rich and full with ripe, concentrated cassis and black raspberry fruit interwoven with chocolate and sweet spice. Ripe and silky tannins close this wine out.
Bodegas Catena Zapata has played a crucial role in raising the profile of Argentina's Malbec wines internationally, carfting quality wines and offering the best of Mendoza’s high altitude vineyards at an incredible value. Grown at the foothills of the Andes Mountains at elevations of 3,000 to 5,000 feet, where intense sunlight, cool evening temperatures and mineral-rich irrigation from mountain snowmelt translate to rich wines with intense flavor characteristics.
The grapes for this Malbec were handpicked, destemmed and crushed. Prior to fermentation, the must was cold soaked for three days. Throughout fermentation, several pump-overs occured to extract color and flavor. After primary fermentation, this wine underwent malolactic fermentation to create a round mouthfeel before eight months of aging in a combination of French and American 225 L barrels at a medium toast level.
