Description

Floral, Mango, Medium-sweet

"Aromas of variety and mineral, wild white flowers and pear, fresh red apple and sweet Meyer lemon. Fragrant, lifted and enticing. On the palate a medium-sweet expression with flavours of lemon and sherbet, apple, lime and lemon along with contrasting acid line. Fresh, lively and delicious, a wine perfect as an aperitif or with delicately sweet seafood. Lengthy, balanced and well made. Best drinking from 2023 through 2030+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Oct 2023

Scale_-_Med-sweet

"Bright, vibrant Riesling with lime juice, white wildflowers, and oyster shell flavours. Moderately sweet although the sweetness is tempered with deliciously pure, mouthwatering acidity. The net effect is a moderately sweet wine with appealing tension" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Sep 2023

The 2023 Josephine is vibrant, persistent and a joy to taste. Bright fruit notes of orange sherbet, fresh strawberry, mango, lime, and a hint of bitter grapefruit mingle on the palate. Balanced by a tingly acid core and a long lingering finish

Josephine is the alternative name given by sailors to the Carrick Bend knot. Josephine, our reserve Riesling, is made from selected parcels of grapes hand-harvested from Arthur’s Vineyard. The sweetest wine of the range, it is a medium-sweet, mosel-esque style.

Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed, then fermented using native yeast in tank. The fermentation is brought to a close when an appropriate balance of sugar and acid is found.

Food Pairing: Enjoy with an aged Gouda, quince paste and crackers for a delicious aperitif.
