Bogle Family Vineyards Twenty Acres Chardonnay 2023 (California)
A masterpiece of complexity & textured elegance
A masterpiece of complexity & textured elegance
Description
Lemon, Oak, Pastry
"Juicy, bright aromas of baked yellow apple, nectarine and white grapefruit are present, with notes of white tea and honeysuckle on the nose. The palate is crisp green apple and peach with orange cream, slight acidity and a mouthwatering finish" Wine Enthusiast, Jan 2025
Golden hued, with aromas of crisp green apples and succulent pears. On the palate, the wine shows lemon meringue, a touch of toasty vanilla and a warm, comforting nuance. Barrel fermentation in new French oak and sur lie aging add complexity and textured elegance. The addition of a small parcel of Clarksburg Chenin Blanc adds a refreshing note of crisp honeydew melon to balance the wine.
Winemaking: Fermented sur lie for 12 months in 28% new French oak and 61% in a combination of new and one-year-old American oak.
Bogle is Quintessential California. The family behind Bogle is now in its seventh generation, run by Warren Bogle, with vineyards based around the Sacramento Delta Basin. The Twenty Acres brand honours the first twenty acres of vines that Warren Bogle planted in 1968. Each Twenty Acres wine has a small addition of a Bogle heritage varietal.
In 2019 Bogle Vineyards was named as the American Winery of the Year in the Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Awards. “Bogle wines have been made in the same place by the same family for more than 40 years, and have become synonymous with both quality and value. This has, among other things, earned them 30 Best Buys from Wine Enthusiast in the past five years alone… For its role in advancing the quality, affordability and sustainability of California wines, Wine Enthusiast honors Bogle Vineyards as its American Winery of the Year” - Wine Enthusiast Magazine
