This Pinot Noir has medium body that exhibits raspberry and black cherry fruit aromas. The palate has flavours of wild berry and spice leading onto a well balance wine. The wine shows a smooth palate with silky tannins on the finish.
During flowering there was a cold spell of weather, which had a significant effect on the region’s fruit set. While this affects the yield, it can help promote concentration of aromas and flavors in the grapes. Above average summer conditions help with even ripening of the grapes which allowed perfect conditions to pick at optimum ripeness.
Black Star wines are produced from grapes grown in the heart of the North Canterbury wine region. This wine was fermented in tank, then stored patiently prior to bottling.
