"It's sweetly fruited and elegantly fragrant on the nose showing red apple, nectarine, lemon zest and strawberry aromas, followed by a finely expressed palate offering pristine fruit flavours backed by crunchy acidity, finishing lingering and crisp-dry. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2022
"Bright, even, pale blush pink. The nose is elegantly full, floral fragranced bouquet underlying citrus, watermelon and raspberries. Medium-bodied, dry to taste, vibrant aromas of raspberries and strawberries fill the palate, alongside a hint of grapefruit, watermelon and floral. Lively acidity carries flavours and fine-textured phenolics to a crisp, refreshing finish. This crisp Rosé shows a vibrant red fruit core with intense floral elements. Serve as an aperitif and match with sushi over the next 2-3 years" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, Jul 2022
"Fragrant, floral, aromas of light red berry fruits, a whisper of pacific rose apple skin scent, yesllow plum and peach. Youthful and enticing bouquet. A satin smooth texture as the wine touches that palate transitions to core fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet, plenty of salivating acidity leading to a just dry finish. Balanced and well made with best drinking from 2022 through end of summer 2024" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jul 2022
Light copper pink in colour, this is an attractive and stylish New Zealand rosé full of rockmelon, rose petals, and sea breeze aromas. Red berry, spice and Provence herb flavours mingle on an elegant, well-balanced palate. The wine has crunchy acidity with a savoury yet refreshingly juicy finish.
Black Cottage Rosé was inspired by founder, Dave Clouston’s long stints in Corsica and the South of France where he crafted fresh, crisp, dry, light pink rosé wines. With a long drawnout summer, without excessive heat waves, our grapes were allowed to gain physiological ripeness at lower than normal sugar levels. Our harvest decisions were made purely on flavour rather brix levels. The wines are light on their feet with expressive aromatics, great energy, and fresh lively acidity with a tight structure on the palate. Treated as a white wine in the cellar, this rosé was fermented cold in stainless steel tank.
