  • Cranberry
  • Red liquorice
  • Earthy notes
  • Fine tannins

"Deep ruby-red, light on the rim. The nose is gently full, with rich aromas of blackberries, mulberries enriched by a hint of smoke, spice and earth. Medium-full bodied, dark-fruited aromas fill the palate, unfolding spice, smokey barrel, and earthy minerals linger to a dry, long finish. The fruit is vibrant and rich, supported by balanced acidity and good energy. The smooth mouthfeel is structured with fine-grained tannin. This is a smooth drinking Merlot with a black-fruited core and a rich and smooth palate. Match with lamb ribs and grilled meat over the next 3 years" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, Mar 2022

"Aromas of plums and black currant then soft brown baking spices of vanilla and cinnamon. A light violet and stony mineral quality adds breadth and charm. Equally fruity and charming on the palate with flavours of cherry and red plum, mineral and baking spices that reflect the bouquet. Easy tannins and plenty of acidity make this a smart choice for food pairing. Well made and ready to drink from 2022 through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Apr 2022

"Fruit forward and brightly expressed with dark plum, sweet raspberry, floral and toasted almond notes, it’s beautifully rounded and supple in the mouth displaying lovely fruit purity and smooth texture. Friendly and super easy to enjoy. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2022

Dark crimson in colour, the nose has Kirsch cherry, dried cranberry, spiced mulberry and a hint of red liquorice, with lovely savoury, earthy notes. The palate has an elegant structure with fine grained tannins and juicy acidity. Very moreish!

From New Zealand's premium red wine region, the grapes for this merlot were hand harvested from the Crownthorpe Terraces sub-region of Hawke’s Bay. The wine was matured for 18 months before bottling.

Food Pairing: Pair with savoury European dishes.
