Description

Dry, Pomegranate, Spice

"Elegant and restrained, it's finely scented on the nose with pomegranate, lemon zest, crunchy apple and subtle spice aromas. The palate displays excellent focus and linear mouthfeel, splendidly structured by vibrant acidity, finishing persistent and mouth-watering" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2024

Scale_1 - Black Market

"Pale salmon and onion skin hues with a faint pink note lead to aromas of raspberry and cherry, apricot and iced-fruit-tea, a whisper of tropical fruits then a leesy rose quality and complexity. Dry and delicious with a fine grained tannins and texture accentuated by acidity and core flavours of pale skinned stone fruits red apple and tropical fruit tea. Delicious, fresh and dry with best drinking from 2024 through 2027" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Oct 2024

Pale blush. Bursting with vibrant red berry fruit. An intense textural palate. Dry, fine acid and a moreish finish.

Sourced from dry farmed Havelock Hills vineyards. One of the earliest established sub-regions in Hawke’s Bay, dating back to 1890. Vine age of 20 to over 30 years. Vineyards are all under Black Barn advisory. Selectively harvested.

Pressed immediately with minimal skin contact. The juice was cold settled, racked off solids and filled to tank for temperature-controlled fermentation. Parcels were fermented with an assortment of aromatic yeast to add complexity and varietal freshness to the wine. Post fermentation held on light lees to impart additional palate texture, minimal fining prior to bottling. Black Barn has already gained a following for Hawke’s Bay Rosé, this is a further expression of our sub-region.
