Wine Orbit
Description
- Subtle oak
- Ripe white peach
- Lemon curd & vanilla
- Soft acidity
"Beautifully fruited and elegantly expressed, the bouquet shows rockmelon, fig, nougat and oatmeal notes, leading to a rounded palate offering succulent fruit flavours together with creamy mouthfeel and juicy acidity. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2021
Juicy aromas of ripe white peach, nectarine and a hint of lemon curd. A creamy texture with delicious layered flavours of ripe stone fruit, vanilla and freshly baked biscuits. Lovely soft acidity, well integrated oak spice and a smooth, lingering finish. This wine will cellar well for the next few years but is also perfect for drinking immediately.
Fruit for this Bishops Leap Chardonnay is from a selection of immaculately tended vineyards throughout Marlborough. Partial fermentation in oak and malolactic fermentation was carried out to enhance the flavours and fill the palate. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 9 months in stainless steel tanks and seasoned oak and lightly fined.
