Description
Blackberry, Oak, Raspberry
"Rich hues of purple and dark red lead to a bouquet filled with scents of roasted Doris plums and blackberry, a layer of violet then iron sand stony qualities. Youthful, firm, dry and fruity as the wine touches the palate. Flavours mirror the bouquet and contrast nicely the dusty fine tannins with a light chalky texture, there’s a nicely measured amount of acidity and earthy mineral qualities return. Balanced, well made and ready to drink from day of purchase through 2028" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Sep 2024
Deep purple red in colour. Fruit driven with red and black berries (redcurrant, cherry, and blackcurrant) combined with spicy and minty notes. Good balance with round and velvety tannins and a long fruit and spicy finish.
Principally in the Entre Deux mers and the right bank of the Gironde estuary. Grape Varieties include 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine was made in soil of a combination of clay, limestone and gravels with an oceanic and mild climate. The vinification was controlled extraction for 3 weeks maceration with daily pumping over. Made partly aged in oak for 3 months.
This cuvée pays tribute to Germain Rambaud, Thomas Barton's first cellar master.
