Highly drinkable wine of unthinkable quality

Description
Floral, Oak, Spice
"This is seriously drinkable, but has a serious side. Lovely floral cherry fruit with some hints of pepper and some autumn leaves on the nose. The palate is fresh and supple with a touch of spicy, peppery bite as well as textured, silky, almost fleshy black cherry fruit, finishing with a subtly savoury cured meat character and some strawberry sweetness, as well as fine leafy hints. Lots of interest here, with nice freshness. It delivers pure pleasure, with an intellectual twist" Jamie Goode, Wine Anorak, Dec 2021
"A bouquet loaded with personality and pinosity. Aromas of minerality and dried herb then a core of red berry fruits from red currant to wild raspberry then cherry and red apple. Layers of older wood add complexity and depth. Taut, salivating, fruity and dry on the palate. Firm tannins and acidity are abundant, adding in texture and mouthfeel as well as foundation. Fruit flavours reflect the bouquet. A youthful and engaging wine with energy, charm reflecting place and time. Best drinking from 2023 through 2030" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Jan 2022
"Delicately-scented pinot noir with floral, violet, red rose, spice, anise, thyme, cherry and subtle spicy oak. Fine tannins form a gently peppery backbone and extend the already lengthy finish. An intriguing wine with supple and seductive texture" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, The Real Review, Jan 2022
"Wanaka based, Wanaka done. Jumps out of the glass at you, red cherry, raspberry, a bit of green olive, some woody spices. Sloshy texture, very primary and attractive, red, sweet berry fruits, a lick of clove spice, crisp tannin and bright acidity .A little grip deals the deal. Wicked drinking, nails pinosity and a bit of a youthful expression brief" Mike Bennie, Wine Front, Dec 2022
Dark garnet with a crimson glow, it’s almost opaque at the centre of the glass The aroma opens with spicy dark cherry and a hint of fresh cinnamon over thyme and a wonderful waft of liquorice. There is a lift of whole bunchy graphite on the nose with depth coming from dark rose petal and a hint of violets. Excellent depth and complexity while showing opulent fruit density. Rich and generous dark cherry fruit entry opening to an expansive and plush texture with layers of spice and subtle earthy notes. The tannin is enveloped in a silk cushion of fruit fullness and reassuring weight. This wine finishes with a fine beam of acidity which brings freshness and vibrance as well as an almost infinite length – true to brief; generous and rewarding. Cellaring – Up to five years, perhaps more but it’s unlikely to survive unopened!
Food Pairing: Would go perfectly with Peking duck pancakes.
