Description
Cream, Oak, Peach
"This is gorgeously expressed on the nose, showing mango, white flesh nectarine, vanilla and toasty oak aromas with a hint of butterscotch. The palate offers layers of creamy texture and delicious flavours, wonderfully framed by finely pitched acidity, finishing lingering and satisfying. At its best: now to 2028" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2024
"Bright, even, pale yellow with some depth. This has a rich bouquet, with aromas of flint, toast and nut overlying stonefruit and citrus. Medium-full bodied, aromas of grapefruit, lemon and nectarine melded with a gentle portion of flint, toast and nutty elements. The lightly creamy mouthfeel provides weight and balance to the toasty component. Lively acidity flows with ease to a refreshing yet toasty finish" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Apr 2025
"Aromas and flavours of peaches and apples, vanilla and wood smoke then grapefruit pith and a fine lees complexity. A weighty wine with a satin-cream touch contrasting acid line and core flavours of white and yellow fruits with a nut and vanilla wood complexity. Balanced and well made in a ready to drink style. best from day of purchase through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
Well defined aromas of melon, nectarine, and a subtle vanilla pod, this Chardonnay displays a bright and elegant palate of peaches and cream with delicious spice lingering on the finish.
Our 2023 Vintage W5 Chardonnay was sourced from vineyards within Dillons Point and Rapaura sub areas of Marlborough. The fruit was monitored consistently throughout the growing season and machine harvested once the grapes reached optimum ripeness.
At the winery, each parcel was fermented separately in a combination of seasoned French and American Barriques. The wine was then aged on lees for a period of nine months, adding complexity and body. At this stage, the wine underwent a second fermentation, crafting an elegant, delectable mouthfeel.
