Description

  • French oak
  • Black berry fruit
  • Vanilla
  • Polished tannins

A deep garnet colour in the glass, this wine shows an endearing nose mingling black berry fruits, notes of liquorice and scents of vanilla. Presenting a full palate with refined, polished and well-intergrated tannins, and a very fresh savoury mid-palate. Vanilla aromas from the oak are still upfront, while the after-taste is long with beautiful tannins which shows all the potential of this wine.

The Château Belair-Coubet is without a doubt the jewel of the Vineyards Faure. Historically, this was the first Château acquired by the family. It does concentrate the best terroirs of the Appellation: Côtes de Bourg. Delphine Faure, who took over the winery in the 1980s, embodies the 6th generation owner of this beautiful Estate. From the very beginning, Delphine Faure has bought a perfectionist and passionate attitude to winemaking and the environment. Delphine has always been interested in Agriculture Rasinonnée (Integrated Farming) for all her Estates. She replanted most of the vineyards predominantly with Merlot to obtain charming, smooth and rich wines. Last but not least, the yields have been greatly reduced for her wines to enable them be more refined and elegant.

Cold maceration before fermentation. Fermentation in thermo-regulated tanks, soft vatting during approximately 3 weeks. Matured for 14 months in French oak barrels.
