"Made from vineyards in La Mancha and Valdepenas with an average vine age of 20 years. Fresh, fruity, easy-drinking tempranillo with cherry, blueberry, violet and subtle spice flavours. Great value at this price $13" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Sep 2020

Medium-bodied, with red berry, tobacco and olive tapenade aromas gives way to fresh fruit flavours with a delicious smattering of spice, soft tannins and a refreshing clean finish. Great drinking.

The popularity of Tempranillo, Spain’s signature variety, is growing at an extraordinary rate.  It is the fastest growing variety in the world in terms of plantings and is already the 4th most planted variety in the world by area. It is so popular because of it’s incredible drinkability especially without the need for oak as is this case with this brilliant quaffer.

Bodega Navarro López was originally founded at the start of the 20th Century by Don Juan Sánchez. The company is still in family hands and they understand that success in a good wine starts with the choice of the best parcels of vineyard. The growing area of the grapes used for the elaboration of this wine is situated in Castilla-La Mancha from vines with an age from 10 to 25 years old, cultivated at about 500-700 meters above sea level.

The ochre red, stony soil, a mix of lime, sand and clay, presents perfect conditions for winegrowing. Altitude helps moderate summer heat, as the climate is classic continental, with cold winters and long hot, dry summers. Grapes are hand-harvested at their optimum ripening point.

A cold maceration takes place to obtain as much colour as possible from the skin and, also, the varietal aromas of the Tempranillo. Through a slow fermentation process, temperature controlled at less than 25ºC that for about 10-12 days.

Food Pairing: A brilliant value BBQ & function quaffer.
